The eligibility questions outlined below have been developed based on the Older Adults Property Tax Deferral Program's eligibility criteria. If, based on your answers to the questions below, you do not meet the basic eligibility criteria for the program; you will not be permitted to complete Step 2 and Step 3 of the calculator below.

1. Are all the registered owners of this property age 65 or older by the end of the current year?

2. Are you the registered owner(s) of the property and is it your principal residence?

3. Have at least one of the applicants been a registered owner of this principal residence in Halton Region (Burlington, Oakville, Milton or Halton Hills) for the previous 4 or more years?

4. Is the combined annual gross income of all registered owners of this principal residence less than $66,100?

5. Are any of the registered owners currently participating in any other tax relief program (rebate, deferral, grant) through Halton Region or a local municipality (if applicable)?

6. Do any of the registered owners currently have any taxes, penalties or interest in arrears from previous years?
